Art is my escape from the world and how I deal with what is happening around me, as well as what is happening in my head. Art calms me down and makes me feel as though all is right in the world, no matter what is going on around me.

 About Kaitlyn

I was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and as soon as I could hold a pen I was found drawing on anything and everything I could get my little hands on. I’ve been creating art seriously for over 10 years, working on growing my craft and learning new techniques. I’m mostly self-taught besides high school art classes.

My work explores the beauty hidden in the world around us, and how the different simple creatures of the world can be so diverse and yet so beautiful. The bright colorful shapes, patterns, textures, and other techniques I use show how the world looks to me, full of emotion, surprises, and bright colors everywhere.

I love to experiment with different techniques and mediums to relate to how the world has so many new things to teach and surprise us with, if we have the patience to see and the willingness to learn.

My favorite way to create art is painting, with sculpting at a close second place, I love using acrylics, oil, and polymer clay the most. My favorite subjects are sea animals and reptiles, but I also enjoy doing art pieces based on mental health, nature, and portraiture.

I work full-time as a barber in OKC, Oklahoma as well, and I have seven pets I absolutely adore, two dogs, two cats, and three snakes, often they are models or inspiration for some of my painting and artwork.
